Dr Ester Elisaria 

Dr Ester Elisaria is a Chief Research Scientist working with Ifakara Health Institute with a vast experience in Nutrition Epidemiology, ECD and Public Health program implementation, research, and evaluation.

She has a BSc in Home Economics and Human Nutrition and MSc in Nutrition and Public Health Epidemiology from Wageningen University in the Netherlands; and a PhD in Public Health obtained from Curtin University in Australia. Ester assisted the Ministry of Health Zanzibar to develop an integrated package for community health workers and supervisors covering all component of child development presented in the WHO nurturing framework. She also worked closely with the government of Tanzania during the development of ECD strategic plan. Ester has been a Principal investigator for over 10 projects implemented by Ifakara Health Institute covering formative assessments, implementation research, clinical trials, process, and impact evaluation.
