Thrive, in collaboration with Tanzania’s President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG) – and UNICEF, organised literature reviews, policy reviews and a series of early childhood development centre stakeholder workshops to conceptually identify early childhood development centre (that is, childcare centre) model(s) for children ages 2-4, that are effective, sustainable and feasible at scale in the Tanzanian context.
With this project, we propose to build on this work by collaborating with BRAC and Children in Crossfire – both core players in the early childhood development centre landscape. We aim to qualitatively pilot at small scale different early childhood development childcare centre modalities conceptually identified in year two of Thrive, focusing on feasibility and user acceptance.
